When I was in my late 20’s I started to notice some fine lines across my forehead. They weren’t deep set wrinkles or anything, but I would definitely get self conscious about them. I’d load up on “pore filling” primers to try and smooth out the fine lines, I’d ALWAYS make sure to moisturize, and I felt like I was keeping them at bay for the most part.
Then one day in Spring of 2020 (at 27 years old), I was taking selfies (like we all do) and I noticed my fine lines BADDDD. (Looking at those pics, they really weren’t awful, I just didn’t expect them on myself. Scroll down for those pics.)
Because I live a more holistic lifestyle and avoid toxic chemicals whenever possible, Botox has not been an option for me. I have friends who get Botox and they are very happy with their results and I think they look great! But for me personally, I’m not comfortable injecting toxins into my face to avoid wrinkles. I’d rather age gracefully, wrinkle free or not.
The deeper fine lines were definitely a wakeup call though. I needed to start taking better care of my skin and find some natural preventative measures.
Now, I’m 30 and I’m happy to say my fine lines have gotten smoother since that selfie sesh and my skin looks more youthful and better moisturized than in my 20’s!
Keep reading to find out what I’ve been using that has been working to diminish my fine lines and prevent deeper wrinkles!

1. Frownies Wrinkle Patches:
Frownies are definitely my #1 recommendation when it comes to preventing wrinkles naturally. They are similar to Botox in that they don’t allow you to move your facial muscles. I wear Frownies at night when I sleep. They more so “train” you to not use your facial muscles as much whereas Botox freezes your facial muscles so you literally can’t move them.
Either way, they prevent wrinkles, they’re non invasive, and they’re cheap! When I started wearing Frownies, I wore them every night for the first month. After that, I went down to every other night, and now I wear them about 2-3 times a week. If you’re going to try any anti-wrinkle product, Frownies are the way to go!
2. Oil:
I’ve been LOVING putting oil on my skin. I apply oil 2-3 times a week after my toner and before my moisturizer at night. Despite common myths, “oil” doesn’t necessarily clog pores and cause acne.
Certain oils like Mineral Oil which is highly processed and toxic are bad for your skin. Other oils such as Jojoba Oil, Argan Oil, even Olive Oil are so moisturizing and they shouldn’t cause you to break out. (If you struggle with breakouts and acne, check out THIS POST. It’s probably not your skincare.)
3. Crunchi Nightlight Facial Cream:
Nightlight has been a game changer in my skincare routine! A little goes such a long way, it’s thick but it doesn’t feel heavy, and I truly believe it has made my fine lines less noticeable!
I LOVE all of Crunchi’s skincare products and my skin has improved so much since switching to them, but if you’re only going to try one of their products, Nightlight is the one I always recommend to people. (Also, I don’t say this because I’m a Crunchi advocate. I became a Crunchi advocate after using their products for months and loving them!)

Keep in mind though that skincare isn’t the only way to prevent wrinkles, nor do I personally think it is the best way. The best way in my opinion to prevent wrinkles and other signs of aging is through diet and lifestyle!
Eating antioxidant and nutrient rich foods, drinking plenty of water, limiting alcohol, getting plenty of sleep, avoiding stress, these all come into play when it comes to preventing signs of aging.
One of the first signs I’m not drinking enough water is my skin starts to look dry and it starts to feel tight. No matter how much I moisturize, the dry feeling does not completely go away until I properly hydrate. Also, when I’ve been eating too much junk, my skin looks dull and I start to breakout.
That’s just appearance though! You have to take into account how your body feels when you eat a certain way or when you don’t get enough sleep or when you’re super stressed out. These aspects effect the way we look much more than any skincare products will!
That being said, have you tried any of these products? Let me know how you like them in the comments! If you have a favorite Toxin Free, Anti-Aging product, leave it in the comments too. I’d love to check it out!
